Lagos,Kaduna, Delta and Ekiti states governors have established the Judicial Panel of Inquiry into Police Brutality and ExtaJudicial killings that will quickly look into all the cases, complains and accuses of police brutality and make sure that any officer found guilty will face the law and people that deserves justice gets it fast.

They set up the panel after the directive of Nigeria Vice President Yemi Osinbajo given during the National Executive Council meeting that he chaired on Thursday 15 October, 2020.

The Panels of Inquiry into Police Brutality and Extra Judicial killings in each States will receive and investigate complaints of police brutality or accuses that is related to the death of any innocent person.

the panel will be headed by retired High Court Judge with other members selected by states governors to investigate the matters and conclude on what to do.

It's only 4 States out of the 36 States of the federation that has set up this Judicial Panel for now.
Lagos state Governor and Deputy Governor
Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu who came out to condemn police brutality, joined the #EndSARS protest and took the demand of the Lagos protesters to President Muhammad Buhari in Abuja, has set up the Judiciary Panel to investigate SARS brutality and Human Right Violations.

The Orderly room trial of police officers started on Friday and he said some of the victims that attended will testify before the panel next week.

The Governor also said he has arranged 200 million naira to compensate victims and officers that shot #EndSARS protesters in Surulere will begin to undergo trial.

Meanwhile on Wednesday, October 14, the Nigeria Governors Forum met with the Inspector General of Police, Muhammed Adamu and said each state will set up panel for the compensation of all the victims of police brutality and make sure that they give compensation to the people who deserves them.

The governors pledged their support to the country. The IGP plans to reform police and make it more effective, accostable and transparent.

They added that it will be good if the IGP consults the public before they take any decision. 

Therefore, they adviced him to do meeting with stakeholders to agree on the format that the reform will be made.

Many state governors have condemn the police brutality and said they will treat the issue with urgency.
Meanwhile, the #EndSARS protest still continues across major cities in the country.
